This page is dedicated to mail about Memorial Day, 2006, in Metuchen. To the
families who've lost their sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers and sisters, we remember not just on Memorial Day, but
every day. To the troops in Iraq and around the world, we pray for your safety. May there be peace, and may your families
be especially blessed for the sacrifices you make each day.

Special thanks to the Memorial Day Committee, participants, sponsors, and all
the people who came out to watch the events. Without you, there would be no pictures

Jules -- I finally sat down at watched the memorial day movie! I'm SO PROUD of you! The others have been moving, but you've
done an especially good job this time of using the music with the pictures to emote -- I've watched it twice and the tears
start falling each time you show the "God Bless America" on the back of the VA bus.

photos, Julie. I especially loved the children's faces.

each face in uniform conveys a message. The same look among the crowd of veterans. The faces of children particularly the
little girl holding a yellow rose really spoke to me! Her eyes filled with emotion! This post reminds us...God bless America
and freedom!! Well done!

nice to see the images.
Sat, June 3, 2006 — Lisa, in Burlington, Canada, writes: Hi
Julie, I loved all your pictures of memorial day but in particular the one you chose for your home page. I love the juxtapostion
of the old trees and wagon against the modernity of the people. The trees stand timeless, like watchdogs of an era gone by.
The way they gently weep over the people looks as if they are quietly whispering,"please sit down, let me tell you a story
of another time. There is much you can learn, much you can teach." I really can't articulate all the emotions that that picture
evokes but as usual, job well done. Lisa
Sat, June 3, 2006 — Bill, in Spartanburg, SC, writes: Very
nice. I love the Iwo Jima pics. The boots especially. Tell me how that looked in action...how did they do it? How long did
it last?
I also love the one where the soldier is praying with his hat in his left hand. Also... a good choice for "cover pic" (the
one you first see as you go to the site!)
